A new era begins with the opening of Berlin Brandenburg BER Airport
On Saturday, October 31, 2020, the new Willy Brandt Berlin Brandenburg Airport (IATA: BER) will finally open its doors and runways. Altogether there are three stages. That opening tomorrow will be followed by the opening of the southern runway on November 4 and the closure of the airport Berlin Tegel on November 8. The new airport Berlin Brandenburg BER accommodates two terminals. And the former airport Berlin Schönefeld will be located in the northern area under the name Terminal 5. Heart of the airport will be Terminal 1 with a gross floor area of 360,000 square meters.
The planned capacity of this airport amounts to more than 40 million passengers, which can be handled annually at the three terminals in the future. Willy Brandt, the name of the fourth German Chancellor symbolizes the fact that with BER Airport, the capital is once again the east-west hub connecting Europe with the world. It is also attractively located in the south-east region of Berlin and thus in a new economic gravitational field. And not only because of the Tesla-Gigafactory. On the way from the airport towards the city center is the science and research location Adlershof, which has invited countless start-ups to settle there in recent years.
ACTION Worldwide Limousines has already undertaken a site inspection with the local partners in Berlin. We want to be optimally prepared for the upcoming services in the new environment. For example, there is a short-term parking lot and a VIP pick-up area right next to the parking garage at the main terminal, which offers you as a customer the highest possible comfort during an airport transfer. We are looking forward to the future and to the many travelers we will be able to welcome at Willy Brandt Berlin Tegel (BER) Airport in the future!
The travel time to/from Berlin Brandenburg BER Airport to the city center is approximately 45 to 50 minutes. The distance is about 28 kilometers.
